2009 BREEDERS CUP JUVENILE FILLIES BETTING TIPS
The Grade 1 Grey Goose Breeders Cup Juvenile Fillies race boasts a massive $2,000,000 purse and I expect stiff competition every gallop of the way over this one and one sixteenth mile test. The morning line favourite is Jerry Hollendorfer's Blind Luck, a two-year old chocolate-coloured filly who comes into the race on a 1-1-2-1 lifetime record. This is a west-coast specialist who scored in the Grade 1 Oak Leaf Stakes earlier in the meet and finished a very close second to Mi Sueno at Del Mar in the Darley Debutante Stakes, another Grade 1 fixture. You'll find this favourite well-priced at 3/1 in the morning line and 4.7 on Betfair. Negligee is another classy runner taking part in this race and the 2 year-old bay filly comes into the race on a 1-2-1 with victories in the (Grade 1) Darley Alcibiades Stakes and a victory in her maiden at Woodbine. She came second in the Ontario Debutante Stakes and boasts a solid pedigree, being sired by Northern Afleet. You'll find Negligee at 6/1 in the morning line and 6.2 on Betfair. There are really only three or four horses who can win this race and one of the others is likely to be She Be Wild. This is another quality runner who had a bit of a blip against Negligee in the Darley Alcibiades at Keeneland. Prior to that she took three in a row at Arlington and I also think the switch to Julien Leparoux on top is a wise one that could certainly bare fruit. She Be Wild is listed at 8/1 in the morning line and 9.2 on Betfair. The final horse of note here is Bob Baffert's Always a Princess- an interesting chocolate filly who boasts both Irish and Brazilian blood. She won her maiden at Del Mar and then put in a good performance in the Oak Leaf Stakes at Santa Anita where she was bested by Blind Luck. Garrett Gomez is set to take the mount again and I actually think Baffert's charge should be the one to capitalize if we get a notable mistake from Blind Luck. She's been beaten by the best horse in the race and I think she's well-priced at 6/1 ML and a whopping 10.5 on Betfair.
