2009 DAVIS CUP BETTING TIPS

Taking a look at the outright betting odds for the 2009 Davis Cup tournament, you'll see that Spain are currently listed as the outright favourites at 2/1. Russia is sitting at 4/1 while Argentina is paying out at 5/1 alongside the French. The USA is listed at 8/1 as Croatia and Serbia move us into the teens at 12/1 and 14/1 respectively. Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland are all listed at 25/1 while Chile take us into long-shot territory listed at 50/1. Sweden come in at 80/1 while Austria and Romania are both sitting at 125/1. Israel is at 200/1 while Holland are completely out of the question with odds currently sitting at 500/1. England face a match-up to attempt to get out of the Euro-Africa zone against Ukraine this week and while Andy Murray has pulled out due to medical reasons, with doctors concerned that Murray would be re-aggravating an old injury if he participated in this week's fixtures. Josh Goodall and Chris Eaton will be stepping in for Murray as they have secured their places through a play-off system. The choice to rest Murray seems to be indicative of him moving onto another phase of his career with Andrew Castle stating that "he must play the long game and think about the majors." A number of UK-based bookmakers are offering up specials on whether Andy Murray will finally break his majors duck with a possible victory on home soil during this summer's Wimbledon tournament being a distinct, and enticing possibility.
