2009 EPSOM BETTING TIPS FOR FRIDAY JUNE 5

We saw the #7 entry Sariska take another half-point drop to her current price of 5/2 for the outright victory in the 2009 Investec Oaks at Epsom Downs. She's got a pretty solid record and is seeing some very heavy betting over the past 24 hours- which obviously precipitated the price drop. Rainbow View holds on to that second place spot with a 10/3 price ahead of Midday who is listed at 7/2. Phillipina is available at 5/1 and Perfect Truth can be backed at 9/1. Oh Goodness Me is listed at 14/1, Wadaat is 25/1 for the victory while The Miniver Rose sits at 33/1 ahead of 40/1 High Heeled and Tottie who carries a 125/1 price. You can take these fixed odds or back starting prices with William Hill who are offering up 1/4 odds on places 1, 2 and 3. In the opening race of the day at 1:40 we have Confront leading a field of 8 with a 5/4 price. He's a heavy favourite here well ahead of General Elliot and Lovelace who come in at 5/1 and 11/2 respectively. Confront is a month off a victory at Newmarket over a field of 15. This Sir Michael Stoute-trained equine is the one to beat here and I'm backing the favourite outright. The 2:45 looks very interesting and Youmzain leads the field at a 9/4 price over some very big names. This six year old Irish runner hasn't won since last June but is lightly raced so far this year having had a brief outing at Nad Al Sheba finishing 4 to a field of 15. What jumps out at me is the incredibly long odds on Expresso Star - 16/1 who did lose the Huxley Stakes to Doctor Fremantle but prior to that enjoyed four wins on the bounce. Ask came out triumphant in the Group 2 Yorkshire Cup three weeks ago and is in much more solid form than the 5/1 price-tag suggests. Frozen Fire is also worth a look at 9/1. I'm bucking the trend here and backing Expresso Star. Be sure to check back at Betting Choice for even more tips and previews for this weekend's action at Epsom.
