2009 EPSOM OAKS ANTEPOST TIPS FROM BETFAIR

We're only a few short weeks away from the 2009 Oaks at Epsom. Betfair has an absolutely titanic-sized antepost market for this one and we're here to help you get a handle on the fillies we've tipped to make a huge statement at this year's classics. Currently, the race looks to be contested by just a small handful of probable finishers. We have Sariska listed at the shortest price of 4.7 and she boasts a 1-4-1 record coming into this with a victory just last week in the Musidora Stakes at York. Midday, coming out of the Prince Khaled Abdulla stables, triumphed in the Oaks Trial Stakes at Lingfield last week by a very significant margin. This filly knows how to win a race and put up a good fight at the Blue Riband Trial Stakes at Epsom in late April, finishing second to Debussy. 7-3-1-4-2-1 is the record coming into the Oaks and the 6.8 price is about right to me. Rainbow View was a hot tip for the 1000 Guineas and only managed to finish a disappointing 5th to Ghanaati- the first loss of her career. With four wins from five starts, you would be tempted to think that the Guineas loss was an anomaly. This horse won Group 1, 2 and 3 races last year and that shows plenty of versatility in my book. Currently trading at 6.2, the confirmation that Jimmy Fortune will be on top for the Oaks should see the price dip as we get closer to post-time. Other notables include Perfect Truth at 14.5, Beauty O Gwaun at 12.0, Again at 16.5 and Phillipina at 16.5.
