2009 Eurovision Betting Tips and Predictions
It looks like Eurovision time is creeping back up on us with the action set to kick off in early May as the two semi-final divisions whittle their way down to the penultimate winners. The 2009 Eurovision contest is looking even more competitive than ever and nowhere is this more reflected than on Betfair. Currently, in terms of outright betting, Greece is listed as the 7.00 favourite. Just behind Greece is Norway who are currently sitting at 9.2. Serbia's Eurovision entry sees them slotting in just behind the Norwegians at 9.8. Turkey is always a strong contender and they're sitting at 10.5. Russia sits at 11.5 and the United Kingdom sits at 13. Malta, of all places, is listed at 15.5. In addition to the outright betting, you can wager on the semi-final selections as well, both in the 1-12 May and 2-14 May groups. There's definitely plenty of cash to be made at this year's 2009 Eurovision Competition and you can definitely bank on the fact that if a strong performance comes from a sleeper country, take Lordi from a few years ago, then you're certainly looking at a huge payday. If a certain Dutch popstar takes the cake, you can back them at 110.00 and there would definitely be more than one person singing at that point. I think the UK are always strong contenders, but Greece are expected to put in a very serious performance. I think Greece's odds with tighten as we get closer to the competition so if you're looking to back the Greeks, back them now. I'm liking the UK for this one though, not just in terms of voting numbers, but mostly talent-wise. I think they're due for a victory.
