2009 EUROVISION LATEST BETTING ODDS FOR THE FINALS

Now that we're through with both semi-finals we can finally get down to the business of the proper Eurovision competition! Norway is still clinging on to its lead as the outright favourite and we've just seen a price drop on Alexander Rybak. Irish bookmaker Paddy Power now has the Norwegian singing sensation listed at 6/5 to take the outright Eurovision Victory. Greece's Eurovision entry Sakis Rouvas has also seen his price shorten after an impressive performance and the Greeks are in very good shape to pull off a win here. Greece Eurovision betting is always very popular and the 4/1 odds represent very good value even on an each-way bet. If Sakis Rouvas finishes second, you can still make a tidy profit by backing him each-way. Turkey's 2009 Eurovision entry Hadise remains at 8/1. I think she's also a solid each-way bet, but I think she'll need an incredible performance and lots of votes from her neighbouring countries if she's going to have a chance at wining. I can see lots of votes coming from Germany. Bosnia & Herzegovina's Eurovision odds have dropped a bit in the past 24 hours and they are now listed alongside the UK as the fifth-placed favourite at 12/1. Jade, the UK's entry was listed at 18/1 not long ago and her odds seem to be shortening thanks to a surge in attention and popularity on home soil. England haven't had a really solid Eurovision pick for a while and she looks to be a bit ahead of the game here. The Germans remain at 20/1 and I think the inclusion of Dita von Teese in their performance won't hurt one bit. I'm not confident that they'll be in any condition to win the competition however. Israel sits at 125/1, but you never know, that could be a value bet for an outside 3rd place finish. Any country over 20/1 should be backed each-way.
