2009 FRENCH OPEN BETTING TIPS
After the titanic upset yesterday at Roland Garros, we've got even more action happening at the 2009 French Open over the next two days. Roger Federer remains the outright favourite to win the tournament and is listed at nearly evens to win. I'm backing Andy Murray all the way though because I think Rafael Nadal's slip up is the opening that Murray needs to secure that elusive first major championship and I think he's great value even just to get to the final. He carries a 4/1 price to win the coveted title. Andy Murray vs Fernando Gonzalez is the marquee match for Tuesday June 2nd at the French Open and Murray is 4/6 and I consider that great value. Use this match in an accumulator and you'll be doing yourself plenty of favours. Gonzalez is 11/10 to take the win, and I actually feel as though Murray is a tad overpriced here. Robin Soderling vanquished Rafael Nadal (well, you could argue that Nadal vanquished himself) and Soderling takes on Nikolay Davydenko who carries a slim 4/9 price compared to Soderling's 13/8. Perhaps he'll be buoyed by defeating the world #1, but I'm backing Davydenko all the way here. Maria Sharapova takes on Dominika Cibulkova and I'm really seeing Sharapova getting better as this tournament goes on. It would have been pretty easy for her to go out early, but I think she's getting more comfortable with herself and is able to take the game to her opponents a lot more than I thought she would be at this point. She's listed at 4/7 and I'm backing her all the way. VERDICTMurray x Davydenko x Sharapova treble£1 = £3.78
