2009 GRAND NATIONAL ODDS AND TIPS FOR COMPLY OR DIE
Having achieved an epic victory in the running of the 2008 Aintree Grand National, Comply or Die has returned in an attempt to pull off a back-to-back Grand National victory. This ten year old comes out of David Pipe's system and boasts a relatively decent lifetime record for a horse specializing in Grade 3 races. In total, Comply or Die has taken 8 wins and 4 2nd's from 23 lifetime starts. Comply or Die's most recent action was at the William Hill Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival where he finished a disappointing 7th behind the heavily-favoured Wichita Lineman. In all honesty, Comply or Die doesn't come into the 2009 Aintree Grand National with much form. 7 in the William Hill Handicap, 11th in the Boylepoker.com Chase, and a Pull-Up at Cheltenham back in November are the only runs Comply or Die has had since the previous Grand National. COMPLY OR DIE BETTING TIPSAs it stands, Comply or Die is sitting in the ante-post market with a price around 16/1 depending on where you're wagering. I feel as though this is a fairly competitive price considering he won the thing last year. Again it should be emphasized though that his form since winning last year's race has been anything but impressive. Perhaps if Comply or Die had at least one solid showing in the last three months in a Chase or a Handicap then it might be a bit of a different story. Currently, I would wait until Comply drifts back up into the 20s before I really get in there and back him with any serious money. Out of form and out of sorts, this looks to be a dramatically different race than last year's event.
