2009 GRAND SLAM OF DARTS OUTRIGHT BETTING
Things are well under way at the 2009 Grand Slam of Darts and, unsurprisingly, we have the in-form Phil Taylor leading the way with very short odds- a near certainty to be the victor of this massive tournament.
Blue Square is serving up a tasty selection of betting markets with match winner, match correct score, total legs, highest checkout, 180s match bets and total 180s available. This is disregarding the outright market, which I think is one of the most competitive online, especially if you’re looking to bet against Taylor.
There are really very few players who can consistently dispose of The Power, if any, but I think that he could very easily drop a match if he gets a few legs behind. We saw it earlier in the year and, although you may not want to bet on that happening twice in a calendar year, you could still have a bash on any of the other quality contenders. Keep in mind that Blue Square is offering up each-way betting at 1/3 the odds on the top 2 places- so you can effectively back somebody to make the final.
Phil Taylor is listed at 1/3 to win the tournament with competition coming chiefly from Gary Anderson and James Wade at 8/1 and 9/1, respectively. Raymond Van Barneveld is listed at 14/1 to win, and that’s quality odds on Barney if think he’ll make the final, you can also back Terry Jenkins (who knows how to beat Taylor) and he sits at 20/1. Mervyn King is at 25/1 and we have Simon Whitlock and Tony O’Shea at 33/1.
The true long-shots include Robert Thornton and Kevin Painter at 40/1, Mark Webster and Steve Beaton at 50/1 while Scott Waites and Colin Lloyd are at 66/1. Darin Young is priced at 100/1 while Kirk Shepherd carries a 150/1 price.
