2009 KING GEORGE STAKES AND KEMPTON BETTING TIPS FOR DECEMBER 25
What a day we have ahead of us on the jumps course at Kempton! We've got a number of high-quality races going on and I'm anticipating an epic performances by Kauto Star and some other surprises along the way. That's right, I can't really back anybody but Kauto at this point. Not just because of the odds, but because of sheer form- and the fact that we have an absolutely legendary jumper in our midst with Paul Nicholl's famous charge looking to land his fourth consecutive King George- a feat unpredecented in English racing lore.
Kauto, currently, is trading at 4/7 with 888sports and that is actually drifting upwards slightly from his price of 1/2 with most major bookmakers earlier in the week. He's a distinct favourite for a reason and I don't need to elaborate. I think that this is about as good as Imperial Commander can do, as he got a near perfect trip last time out, and that Kauto has actually built upon that first run of the year with Paul Nicholls prejecting nothing but confidence for his immaculate French nine year old.
Kauto, is my selection becauseif you really want to get down to the nitty-gritty, I'm a believer in this jumper. This is one of the best jumpers that you will see in your lifetime and his willpower, pace, and coolness-under-pressure are something truly special
I expect your tricast to be made up of two of these four selections. We've seen a huge amount of movement this week and based on recent form and momentum I really have a liking for Deep Purple- out of Evan Williams system. He's been winning for fun this year and has several graded victories to his credit. He is a key tote ten to follow runner and I think there is a good chance that he will build on previous performances. You'll find him impeccably over-laid at 14/1 with 888sports!
Barbers Shop, the Queen's horse, is really looking for his next credible victory and this could be his best opportunity. You'll find him priced out at around 14/1 with most major bookmakers. He could strike here and the punters seem to fancy him for an each-way shot. Nacarat at 16/1 is interesting and if he gets a perfect trip he could do some damage and figure onto your place tickets.
Personally, I think your lock for a 3rd place finish is Madison Du Berlais who is currently trading at 8/1. He has traditionally needed a few runs to get moving but when he gets on form he's dangerous. You'll find him at 8/1.
If you're looking at the Christmas Hurdle, it's all about Go Native and Binocular for me. You'll find them at around 5/4 for Binoculat and 15/8 for Go Native.
