2009 MEN'S FRENCH OPEN BETTING TIPS
Rafael Nadal is the outright favourite to win the 2009 French Open, carrying an odds-on price of 4/11 for the tournament victory. Against such an impressive field, that really tells you just how much quality that Nadal has, considering the short odds and the fact that he's up against Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray. There's plenty of money to be made here, but the short odds on Nadal make things a bit more complicated. Federer is listed at 5/1 with Djokovic at 7/1. Scotland's Andy Murray has a price of 16/1 and that makes him a very appealing each-way bet in my opinion. Paddy Power is offering up each-way betting with 1/3 the odds on places 1 and 2. We've got a big field here, so backing a longer-odds player to make the final is a solid way to get some value here, but if you're really looking to strike it rich, I'd stick to accumulator bets on the match betting as opposed to the outright market which is really looking like a Nadal + ? puzzle right now and it's too early to make any concrete calls that don't just involve you picking Federer and hoping for the best. Andy Murray's price makes him an appealing choice to make the final, but I need to see more out of him before I'm willing to fork out anything serious. Other notables includes Andy Roddick at 200/1, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at 150/1, Nikolay Davydenko at 66/1 and Igor Andreev at 250/1.
