2009 PGA CHAMPIONSHIP BETTING TIPS
In the "Top American Without Tiger" market, Phil Mickelson leads the way at 7/1 with Hunter Mahan at 10/1 while Steve Stricker and Stewart Cink share a 12/1 price. Anthony Kim, Jim Furyk, Zach Johnson and Kenny Perry are all at 16/1. Each-way betting is available, but we're going with Phil on this one because he's going to have the crowd behind him. Boo Weekley is your outside tip at 40/1.The "Top Australasian Player" market is dominated by Geoff Ogilvy at a slim 7/2. Robert Allenby is at 5/1 while Adam Scott and John Senden sit at 8/1. This one is a difficult market to predict, but I don't see much value on Ogilvy, I'm going to tip Adam Scott at 8/1. Retief Goosen and Geoff Ogilvy are well-priced in the "Top Rest of the World Player" market at 7/1 and 8/1, respectively. This is where you should back Ogilvy. "Top European Player" is a likely tip to Padraig Harrington at 5/1, but never count out Miguel Angel Jimenez at 22/1 and Sergio Garcia is also well-priced at 12/1. "Top Scandinavian Player" is all about Henrik Stenson at 7/4, but if Soren Hansen gets off to a good start, the 4/1 price tag will look like a solid piece of business. This is a tough one, but I like Stenson. Retief Goosen and Ernie Els are slugging it out for "Top South African Player" at 6/4 and 5/2. Not a huge amount of value here, but Trevor Immelman could spring a surprise at 8/1. And finally, the "Top UK and Ireland" Player is either going to be Padraig Harrington at 5/2 or Ross Fisher who is at a solid 9/1. Ian Poulter shares that price as does Paul Casey.
