2009 PRESIDENT'S CUP GOLF BETTING TIPS
We have one of the best tournaments in international golf set to go this Thursday with the 2009 edition of the President's Cup. We will see the top professionals in the game battling it out for Inter-Continental bragging rights and you never get odds as good as this on Tiger Woods. Ladbrokes already has a market available and you'll see that the United States is the heavy favourite to take the victory here- listed at a 1.4 outright margin. The International side is available at 3.0 and a tie would garner a 15.0 price. Betting outright isn't really much fun so I'm going to be closely examining the top point scorer markets by team and overall. The top 4 point-scoring favourites all hail from the USA side- and that's an example of just how well-rounded this team is. They can get winning performances out of virtually anybody and these are all players who can turn it around easily should they get in trouble. Tiger Woods is the outright favourite to win the Presidents Cup at 6.0 while Phil Mickelson comes in behind that at 9.0. Great prices on two great players and to think you can back them both for a payout of either 3/1 or 9/2- short-priced betting at its finest. Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker are deadlocked at 13.0 while Ernie Els is the highest-rated International star at 15.0. Anthony Kim is at 15.0 for the USA while Camilo Villegas, Geoff Ogilvy, Hunter Mahan, Retief Goosen and Sean O'Hair are all available at 17.0. Angel Cabrera, Stewart Cink, Vijay Singh and Zach Johnson are all sharing a 21.0 price. Other notables include Mike Weir at 26.0, Robert Allenby at 34.0, Y-E Yang at 34.0 and Adam Scott at 26.0. There is a very tight battle for top International Points Scorer with Ernie Els at 7.0, Villegas, Ogilvy and Goosen all at 8.0 and Cabrera and Singh at 9.0- good price on Vijay, but he's had an indifferent season. Tiger Woods is the favourite for Top USA Points Scorer at 4.0 with Phil Mickelson at 8.0. Jim Furyk and Steve Stricker are at 9.0. I like the USA all the way here, and you'll have plenty of opportunities to correct a losing bet if the International Side look like they may pull off an improbable victory. Take Tiger and Mickelson together, but hedge your bet with Hunter Mahan, I think he's short-priced and could spear-head an American attack if the big names fall short. Watch Ogilvy and Goosen for top International.
