2009 ROYAL ASCOT DAY FOUR BETTING TIPS

Most of the odds are out for tomorrow's final day of competition at the Royal Ascot. What a meeting we've had so far, with plenty of thrills and drama- history has been made and connections have been vindicated. We have some really exciting action ahead of us and there's some solid money-making opportunities as well. In the 3:05 King Edward VII Stakes we have a 1 mile 4 furlong dash that should see Black Bear Island at 11/4 facing off against a few other contenders. I'm a big fan of Debussy and I can see him doing some damage. With a 9/1 price I'm a bit more tempted to back him on the place bet, but I'm supremely confident he will be there or thereabouts. Black Bear Island has a solid lifetime record, but was absolutely stuffed in the Epsom Derby, finishing 10th out of a field of 12. In the 3:45 Coronation Stakes, we've got one of my personal favourites, Rainbow View at 9/1, taking on his rivals Ghanaati and Elusive Wave. The three year-old fillie has a go at the Epsom Oaks and finished fourth to Sariska. A loss earlier this year at Newmarket in the 1000 Guineas to Ghanaati shows that she's got a lot to prove in this race. Prior to those two races, Rainbow View was 100% from four. Ghanaati comes out of the Al Maktoum stable and will certainly be the favourite, and I actually expect the 9/4 odds to be closer to 7/4 come post time. Again is worth a look at 8/1. The 4:20 Wolferton Handicap should be interesting and it's got a fairly wide field of 16 talented runners. Stone of Scone leads the field at 5/1 but I like the longer shots in this one. Halicarnassus is an excellent each-way punt and carries a 16/1 pricetag. There was some solid outing sat Goodwood and I think big race form is there. Perfect Stride is a solid choice at 8/1 while Khateeb is fresh off a stakes win at Nottingham and is listed at 12/1. In the 4:55 Queen's Vase, I'm backing Sheikh Al Maktoum's talented runner Sabotage who is well-priced at 6/1. A victory at Leicester and a second place showing to Elliptical at Goodwood makes me fairly confident over this distance. Two miles is a lengthy contest and I can see him putting up a fight all the way to the end. Dhushan is the favourite at 3/1 and Tactic is an interesting bet at 22/1.The meeting closes out with the 5:30 Buckingham Palace Stakes where we'll see a massive field of 32 take off on a 7 furlong race. Standouts for me here include Seasider at 9/1, Shifting Star at 16/1 and Harrison George at 18/1. This one will be all over the place and I wouldn't be surprised to see a 25/1 + winner in this.
