2009 Six Nations Betting Tips
Things are definitely heating up as Rugby fans all over Europe start gearing up for the start of the 2009 Six Nations Tournament next week. As it currently stands, the Welsh are considered the outright favourites to win the tournament listed at 15/8 with totesport. Ireland are just a step behind at 3/1 while England (who it must be said are not in the best of form) sit at 10/3. The French are listed at 7/2 with Scotland a ways back at 12/1 and the Italians considered the miracle long-shots with a price of 100/1. The Italians are ½ favourites for the Wooden Spoon and I consider that to be an excellent price as it seems a virtual certainty. I don't expect much from the Italians this time around and barring some dismal performances by the Scots (who are capable of dismal performances, mind) I consider the Italians a great bet at ½. In terms of the Grand Slam market, the Welsh are considered the most likely team to pull off a Grand Slam with 9/2 odds. Obviously No Winner is the most likely outcome with odds backed at 8/15. Wales are also backed to win the triple crown at 15/8 with No Winner listed at 2/1. The Irish come in just behind listed at 4/1. England can be backed at 11/2 with Scotland at 8/1.
