Sensing a pattern? So am I. Unless this is an emphatic goalscoring bonanza, which it most likely won't be, then I would consider Werder the slim favourites here. This could be one of those 1-0 matches with a goal scored by a full-back or a defender. I see that Rasvan Rat is listed at 40/1 and Dario Srna is paying out at 20/1 for last goalscorer. In the scorecast market, Claudio Pizzaro to score the only goal in a 1-0 contest pays out at 33/1 and that's a very plausible scenario. Shakhtar are the same price for a penalties win, but are listed at 9/1 to win in extra time. If you ask me, Werder Bremen have a little extra goal-scoring punch and that's what can win you cup finals. I'm backing them to take the 2009 UEFA Cup, but I think extra-time is a very real possibility- and that this one will be extremely close.
