2009 US OPEN BETTING FAVOURS A FEDERER-MURRAY FINAL
The 2009 US Open is well underway and we've already seen some of the biggest names in tennis competing and you can bet on plenty of upsets and excitement until the final day of the tournament. It's a very interesting field this year and if anybody feels as though we're due for a resurgence of Rafael Nadal, you're going to make some seriously good money on this one. In-form Roger Federer is the outright favourite, listed at 11/10 to win the tournament. Scotland's Andy Murray has been made a strong second favourite at 5/2 after producing some scintillating stuff in his first match of the Open. As mentioned above, Rafael Nadal is not favoured for a tournament win here, but if you're going against the grain, you're looking at a very enticing 6/1 price. These three look like the only really plausible winners in terms of the early odds with at Juan Martin Del Potro at 8/1 and Novak Djokovic being the closest competitors at a 10/1 price. Andy Roddick could produce a real performance here and he's listed at 11/1. After Andy Roddick, there is a significant gulf with Jo-Wilfred Tsonga at 40/1. Fernando Verdasco and Nikolay Davydenko are at 66/1 with Robin Soderling at 80/1. James Blake could put something together and at 200/1 he's worth a cheeky bet. Be sure to keep in mind that you can take advantage of each-way betting at 888sports with 1/2 odds available on the top two spots. That brings a long-shot player into contention if you think they can beat one of the top seeds in the final.
