2009/10 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GROUP WINNER BETTING TIPS
The Champions League Groups are out and the English teams look to have gotten the best draws. Rangers are certainly in with a shout while it doesn't look like too many top teams will get into a huge amount of trouble at this point. 888sport has just revealed their odds for Group Qualification betting and there's plenty of money to be made, as well as some interesting insights about the 2009 Champions League. Group A is, in my opinion, the second strongest group and you'll find Juventus as the outright favourites to win Group A. They are listed at 11/10 and we've got Bayern Munich listed at 6/5 to be named Group Winner. Bordeaux are 5/1 while Maccabi Haifa carry a 50/1 price. In Group B, Manchester United are some of the heaviest favourites in the competition with a 2/7 price to high-roll their Champions League Group. Wolfsburg, the fourth seed, are listed as second favourites at 9/2. CSKA Moscow are 9/1 while Besiktas are 16/1. Those are two tough trips to make for any team and I'm also interested in the German/Turkish subplot in this group. It should be an interesting fixture both times out. Group C has Real Madrid as the odds-on favourites at 4/9 well ahead of AC Milan at 9/4. The Kaka, Eto'o issue is very interesting here and that will be one of the plum matches, that's for sure. Marseille are listed at 9/1 and Zurich are out of it at 50/1. In Group D, Chelsea are very short-priced at 2/7, but their group should roll over pretty easily as Atletico Madrid are listed at 4/1 and Porto carry an 8/1 price tag. Apoel Nicosia are the 40/1 long shots here. I think there is a chance that Atletico can top the Group, but it will require two big mistakes from Chelsea. Group E has Liverpool dominating the competition at 2/5 with Lyon an interesting bet at 4/1. Liverpool haven't been entirely consistent this year and, even though they've lost Karim Benzema, Lyon are still a force to be reckoned with. Fiorentina carry a 9/2 price while Debreceni are at 80/1- the longest odds in the competition. Group F betting has Barcelona as the big favourites with a 2/5 price. Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan sit at 13/5 odds to win their Group. Dynamo Kiev are at 14/1 while Rubin Kazan are listed at 16/1. Group G is a soft one and it's really wide open. Sevilla are 4/7 and I think that's a bit too short. Stuttgart catch the eye at 2/1, but why not have a bash on Rangers with their 7/1 price? You can also opt for Unirea Urziceni at 40/1 if you're feeling ridiculous. Group H has Arsenal listed as the strong 1/4 favourite. Dutch champs AZ Alkmaar are available at 7/1 and you can see this one is a big race for second place with Olympiacos and Standard Liege at 9/1 and 10/1, respectively.
