2009/10 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OUTRIGHT BETTING TIPS

888sport has released their updated odds for the 2009/10 Champions League following yesterday's draw to determine the various groupings. Barcelona have solidified their position as the outright favourites to win the competition. Lionel Messi & co are listed at 4/1 to win the Champions League for the 2nd year in a row. Real Madrid and their pack of superstars are available at a 5/1 price with Chelsea just behind at 6/1. Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United side carry a 7/1 price which is more or less where I thought they'd be.
There looks to be only three other plausible winners at this point with Arsenal listed at 10/1, Liverpool are at 11/1 while Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan are just behind at 12/1. After that, the odds take a sharp rise to Juventus at 22/1 and AC Milan at 25/1. Bayern Munich are at 28/1 while Lyon carry a 33/1 price- the same margin as Sevilla. Atletico Madrid and Stuttgart are both at 40/1 while Wolfsburg are available at 50/1.
Rangers are 200/1 to win the Champions League.
There is usually one big team that doesn't manage to make it out of the group stage and this year it could very well be one of AC Milan or Inter. Bayern Munich are also in a a difficult group and it looks like the French teams will be looking to play the role of spoilers in the two most difficult groups- A and C. I think Manchester United's odds could lengthen once they hit the knock-out stages, especially if they're given a tough draw. Barcelona will probably blow out some weaker teams and their price could be a bit shorter come December. Real Madrid will be looking to win this year's tournament as they know the final will be played at their own Santiago Bernabeu.
This year's contest is shaping up to be an incredible one and it will be very interesting to see how far the English teams get this year. I think a semi-final of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United is very plausible.
