2010 AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS TOP GOALSCORER ODDS AND TIPS
The top goalscorer of the 2010 African Cup of Nations looks at the outset to be a two-horse race, but international tournaments can always throw up plenty of surprises and I firmly expect a much closer, and more wide-open, race than many other pundits.
The two main favourites are indisputably Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto’o who trade at 4/1 and 5/1, respectively to be named top goalscorer of the tournament. Logically, these are the two best players in the entire tournament and, should they both make the final, you would fancy either of them to do it. However, things aren’t always as they seem. One hat-trick by a random player like Obafemi Martins against a weaker team can skew the betting entirely. Additionally, an early exit by one of the top clubs would doom your bet to failure. There are plenty of excellent odds if you favour anybody outside of the top 2 selections.
Matthew Amoah and Asamoah Gyan are both at 12/1, while Emad Moteab, Freddy Kanoute and Emmanuel Adebayor are all listed at 14/1. Yakubu can be backed at 16/1.
You’ll find Salomon Kalou listed at 18/1 alongside Bakary Kone while Victor Obinna and Obafemi Martins can be backed at a 20/1 price.
Other options include Kala Uche, Seydou Keita and Manucho at 25/1 while Peter Webo and Moumouni Dagano are both listed at 28/1. Aruna Dindane, Issam Jemaa and Mohamed Zidan trade alongside Rafik Saifi at 33/1. Razak Omotoyossi, Achille Emana and the awesomely-named Flavio can be backed at 40/1 while Kanu, Chiukepo Msowoya and Roguy Meye are all at 50/1. Daniel Cousin is the last option at 66/1.
You can get 1/4 odds on the top four places, something of an each-way bet, and this is a great way to make some cash off some of those longer odds selections.
