2010 ANTEPOST FLAT RACING FAVOURITES AND TIPS

It's really never too early to get your bets in if you're the type of punter who enjoys the enhanced value (and enhanced risk) of a proper antepost wager. One of the best aspects of antepost racing is that virtually all bookmakers are offering up high-quality fixed odds and Betfair's exchange has some quality prices available as well.
On August 20th, we've got the running of the Nunthorpe Stakes at the York Ebor Festival and, unsurprisingly, Starspangledbanner (Choisir) is the betting favourite at around 3.35. His closest comeptition is coming from the talented Equiano (Acclamation), who was well-beaten by Starspangled in the Group 1 Darley July Cup at Newmarket.
Attention then turns to the Celebration Mile at Goodwood on August 28 and, while the market isn't very mature at this point, you can still lock in a 4.0 price tag on Rip Van Winkle (Galileo) who just captured another Group 1 score in the Juddmonte International Stakes.
Godolphin's Rewilding (Tiger Hill) has been installed as the outright favourite to win the 2010 St Leger at Doncaster on September 11. You can back him on the exchange at Betfair for a 2.94 price while he trades at 3.0 on Ladbrokes. Snow Fairy (Intikhab) is the second favourite at 7.0, while Midas Touch (Galileo) can be backed alongside Arctic Cosmos (North Light) at 8.0 with Ladbrokes.
The 2010 Queen Elizabeth Stakes are set to run at Ascot on September 25 and it looks to be all about Canford Cliffs (Tagula) in that one. Betfair has him odds-on at a 1.8 listing while Rip Van Winkle slots in at 3.25.
The 2010 Arc De Triomphe looks to be setting up nicely for the talented Fame and Glory (Montjeu) who can be backed at a 4.0 price tag. That's a nice bet at this point as I firmly expect shorter odds come race day.
While we're on the subject, Fame and Glory is also a strong contender to win to win the Champion Stakes at Newmarket on October 16 with a 7.4 price. This is just a shade behind Twice Over (Observatory) at 4.5 and Byword (Peintre Celebre) at 5.5. Snow Fairy is also trading at 7.4 in this one.
Twice Over is also in the frame as a solid contender for the 2010 Breeders Cup, which will run at Churchill Downs this year. You can back last year's runner-up to the legendary Zenyatta (Street Cry) at a 14.5 price. Rip Van Winkle is also in the running at a 16.5 listing. AP O'Brien's Cape Blanco (Galileo) trades at a 26.0 price for the classic.
