2010 CARLING CUP LAST MINUTE ODDS AND BETTING TIPS
We've got plenty of Carling Cup action set to kick off today in just a few minutes and we'll be bringing you the run-down on the odds for all the fixtures involving Premier League teams.
Hartlepool vs Wigan is an interesting-looking fixture and I get the feeling that Hartlepool could very well fancy their chances here as the situation at Wigan looks to be going from bad to worse. The Latics remain at odds-on with a 19/20 listing while Hartlepool are at 13/5. The draw trades at the same price and I think some punters will have hefty wagers on Wigan to drop this match.
Leyton Orient vs West Brom should be going in the direction of the Baggies. You can back West Brom at an odds-on price of 8/11 while Leyton Orient trade at a 7/2 price. The draw is available at 11/4 and I'll be backing West Brom in this one as they should be able to handle what Leyton Orient can throw at them.
Blackpool travels to MK Dons for this one and, after getting thumped by Arsenal, people seem to be losing a bit of confidence here. You can back Blackpool at 11/8 while MK Dons trade at 15/8. The draw is listed at 12/5 and the extra-time wouldn't really surprise me one bit here, though I do think Blackpool are deserved favourites.
Southampton vs Bolton is a solid fixture and you can back Wanderers at a 6/4 listing against Southampton, who trade at a 17/10 listing. I think Bolton are solid value at that price, but this one will likely be taken by whoever notches the first goal.
Stoke are one of the heavier favourites today in their fixture against Shrewsbury. Toss this one into your accumulator selections as its a pretty safe bet. They are 4/11 while their opponents are priced at 8/1.
Sunderland vs Colchester shows the Black Cats at a slim 1/3 listing while the visitors trade at 17/2. The draw is 15/4, but this one should be all Sunderland.
West Ham vs Oxford should be an opportunity for the Hammers to try out a few players who are on the periphery of the squad and hopefully that won't work against them here. They are also listed at 1/3 for the win with Oxford at 15/2 and the draw available at a 4/1 price.
Wolves vs Southend has Mick McCarthy's side at 1/3 while Southend trades at 15/2. The draw is 4/1 but I've got plenty of confidence in the side from Wolverhampton.
Finally, Blackburn take on Norwich and you can back Sam Allardyce's men at an 8/13 price while the Canaries are available at 9/2. The draw is at 11/4 and that might be a popular option for neutrals, but I think that Blackburn should take this barring any major errors.
