2010 CHAMPIONS DAY AT NEWMARKET TIPS AND SELECTIONS
Some of the world's top flat racing talents are taking to the turf at Newmarket for Champions Day, which kicks off in just a few hours.
We'll be taking a quick look at all the major races of the day and letting you know about a few outside contenders as well.
Challenge Stakes
Godolphin send out two in the opener at 1:50 and we'll be jumping aboard the solid favourite DELEGATOR (Dansili), who gets Dettori for the trip this time. Of the rest of the field, Red Jazz (Johannesburg) looks to have enough to pull off the upset while Ryan Moore and Sir Michael Stoute partner up on Main Aim (Oasis Dream).
You'll find Delegator at 3.0 with Red Jazz at 6.0 and Main Aim trading at 11.0 with Ladbrokes.
Dewhurst
Frankel (Galileo) continues to be the main story in this one and he's holding steady as the odds-on favourite with a 1.72 price tag. Johnny Murtagh boards Roderic O'Connor (Galileo) and you expect him to take a few outside bets at around 26.0. William Buick and DREAM AHEAD (Diktat) are undefeated together and trade at a respectable 3.75.
Champion Stakes
Twice Over (Observatory) is getting a fair amount of volume to pull off a score in this race for the seconde year on the bounce. We'll be siding with Arlington Million-winning partnership DEBUSSY (Diesis) and William Buick. A 13.0 price is definitely solid value on a contender who has beaten some of the world's best.
Cesarewitch
The Cesarewitch is a bit of a toss-up but Admiral Barry (Kalansi) and (Deauville Flyer) are interesting selections and you can back them at 12.0 and 17.0, respectively. Cotillion (Sadler's Wells) looks to be the play if you're after an each way selection and he should off some value at 51.0.
