2010 CHINA OPEN TENNIS- ODDS AND PREDICTIONS- DJOKOVIC FAVOURITE TO WIN
With the world still attempting to catch its breath on the back of one of the most tightly fought US Open contests in a long, long while, the tennis community are once again being treated to another humdinger in the form of the 2010 China Open.
With some of the more influential names of the game missing from the tournament- namely Federer and Nadal, not as much media spotlight is cast upon this event, however the pure class on show is undeniable.
With that said, this event is still one that attracts the crowds and is most certainly an opportunity for the tennis top-end to prove that world tennis is not just a two horse race.
The men’s event is interesting with the bookies being split as to who is the outright favourites to win the title
William Hill have it split down the middle with US Open losing finalist Novak Djokovic and Scotsman Andy Murray at 3.25 each.

From there the odds get rather long with Nikolay Davydenko at 13.0, and David Ferrer at 17.0 even
Marcos Baghdatis is a rank outsider at 51.0, with Michael Berrer at 67.0 even.
Whilst many might consider this tournament as somewhat of a ‘lesser’ important one on the circuit, those looking to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals might beg to differ.
After his superb US Open, Novak Djokovic is a worthy favourite for this event. He certainly deserves something from this year, and one would think this is one that he could wrap up fairly easily
At the same time, many feel that Murray will provide decent entertainment. With Murray playing the China Open for the first time he will be looks to earn crucial points in his bid to qualify for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals.

Defending his title he will be tough to beat, and coupled with being on the verge of qualifying for the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, eh will have extra motivation to win.
