2010 COMMONWEALTH GAMES BETTING ODDS FOR WEIGHTLIFTING AND HOCKEY
The 2010 Commonwealth Games are now fully underway and hopefully the actual sports competition will draw some attention away from the off-field controversies. It’s a little tricky trying to track down betting odds on the 2010 Commonwealth Games but the exchange wagering over at Betfair has a number of different markets available although some aren’t exactly.
One of the most expanded markets you’ll find is in hockey, where the Australians are considered to be the distinct favourites to win the Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. Currently, the Australians can be backed at a 1.6 price and their next closest competitor is England- who are listed at 5.2.
Pakistan and India are both in the hunt, along with New Zealand and you can back them at 7.6, 8.4 and 8.0, respectively.
The Malaysian hockey team are trading at 12.5 while South Africa are priced at 14.0. Canada is listed at a 15.0 price tag while Scotland trades at 20.0 alongside Trinidad & Tobago.
One of the other more developed markets is the 62 kg weightlifting gold medal and the betting favourite appears to be Dimitris Minasidis who is odds-on at 1.32. Naharudin Mahayudin and Aricco Jumitih are both trading at 2.02 while Daniel Koum Koum, Muhammad Ghafoor and Rustam Sarang are both listed at 4.0. Omkar Otari is available at 5.0 with Jasvir Singh at 6.0. Vannar Be, Anton Kurukulasooriyage and Gareth Evans are all priced as the 11.0 longshots.
If you’re looking to back top 3- Minasidis, Jumitih and Mahayudin are all listed at microscopic prices so if you fancy anybody else to pull off a surprise victory then you’re looking at some decent cash.
