2010 EUROVISION LATEST ODDS SHOW AZERBAIJAN JUST EDGING GERMANY

The betting volume is definitely picking up and the open odds market on Betfair is showing that the current favourite for 2010 Eurovision is Safura Alizadeh and she’s trading below 4.0 for the first time in quite a while- with her price hovering around the 3.85 mark at the time of this writing.

This latest development is a clear break from the previous favourite Lena Meyer-Landrut of Germany who is now listed at 4.2- and the volume looks to be a lot heavier on the German- it looks like she is really shaping up to be the key figure in this year’s Eurovision song content.
The main issue is that Azerbaijan have to force their way through the semi-finals while Germany have been give a direct route to the final. I think that this is a bit of a double-edged sword as Safura Alizadeh could improve her standing significantly by pulling off a massive performance- you would then see her price likely cut in half if she really dominates. Meyer-Landrut would be forced to wait until her turn as the punters would likely begin piling bets on the Azerbaijan contender.
Those looking for value on Lena Meyer-Landrut are in a bit of a quandary as the price on offer right now with Betfair is actually pretty good, but if Azerbaijan does really well then the price for Germany will certainly rise.
If you’re looking to play it safe this time out, why not check out the top 4 market? Azerbaijan are priced at 1.48 to finish in the top 4, but Lena Meyer-Landrut is listed at above even money with a 2.04 price. There is a big difference between finish first and finishing fourth and you can get that for only half the price. That’s not a bad bet at this point and will certainly give you some hedging options. If you’re looking to back Lena Meyer-Landrut with a substantial amount of money then I would say back her top 4 at this point and keep your eyes firmly fixed on the second semi-final.
