THE LINE-UP IS LISTED AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE
The odds are looking mighty profitable for Canada's men's hockey team to take gold on home soil at Vancouver 2010. The team was revealed today, to an expectant public and they remain extremely strong favourites to top their Group A competitors.
!
In terms of the outright betting, Canada are listed at 1.9 to win the gold medal. That means if you wagered €10 you'd cash out with €19 after a gold medal victory. Their closest competitors are Russia who carry odds of 3.6 while Sweden (always a tough competitor) are listed at 5.5. The United States (who pulled off one of the biggest Olympic miracles in history at Lake Placid) can be backed at 8.5. The odds then take a big jump to Finland at 15.0. The Czech Republic trades at 21.0 and that's the last plausible winner as Slovakia is the next best-priced side at 51.0.
In terms of the Group A betting, Canada are a very slim 1.25 to win the Group that includes the United States. The USA is 3.25 to win the group while Switzerland are 51.0 and Norway are a colossal 501.0 to win the group.
Russia looks to have the edge on Group B at 1.36 while Czech Republic can be backed at 3.0 to win their group. Slovakia's odds are 21.0 while Latvia are a distant 101.0.
Group C looks to be going in Sweden's favour with a 1.5 price. Finland look like the most plausible team to upset any group favourite with their 2.37 price. Belarus are 41.0 while Germany are 67.0. Group C is the most open group.
Listen to this- You can back multiples on Group Winners at Ladbrokes! Canada/Russia/Sweden to top their groups pays out at 2.55. If you tossed €100 on that, you'd walk out with €255! Look how strong they all are as favourites! That looks easy money to me!
Remember, Canadians along with their Nordic and Russian friends will be piling on bets on the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Hockey betting markets and you won't find a better price than the ones on offer at Ladbrokes! The tournament starts February 13th in beautiful Vancouver, Canada! That's a mere month and a half away!
