2010 PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS TAYLOR VS KING BETTING TIPS
In a repeat of last year’s semi-final Mervyn King and Phil Taylor will go head to head in the last four of the Premier League. A rare Taylor defeat was the outcome 12 months ago but King comes into this game amid a dreadful run of form and is really up against it if he is to emulate last year’s victory.
In fact, despite some brilliant early season form which saw him take a point off Taylor and reach the final of the Players Championship, King has managed just one win in his last six Premier League outings and is painting the picture of a man bereft of confidence and form.
He has had his troubles with the boisterous Premier League crowds in recent weeks and reacted in a way that has only made things worse. By confronting the jeers he showed that they were getting to him and gave the hecklers more ammunition to fight back. An attempt to get the crowd on side last week by wearing a novelty hat stank of desperation and I really don’t see how King can combat that aspect of the game and throw good enough darts to beat The Power.
In short, this looks like a straight forward victory for Taylor, but at odds of 1.1 (1/10) on Betfair only the big money players will see any sort of worthwhile return from backing him. Luckily though, there are plenty of other betting markets to divulge in here.
The first bet that stands out is the 4/5 available at Boylesports on Taylor getting the most 180’s in the match. In the last league meeting between the two Taylor got four maximums whilst King didn’t manage any and in the last three weeks The Power has hit 10 180’s in comparison to his opponents 3.
And secondly I like the look of under 6.5 180’s at 4/5, again with Boyelsports. If this match does go to form and Taylor runs out as the comfortable victor then it could be over in a flash, which means that there will be a low number of legs played and hence fewer opportunities to score 180’s.
That’s the theory anyway, but as we all know, the reality of sport can be very different.
