2010 PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS WEEK 11 BETTING TIPS
Terry Jenkins kept alive his faint hopes of a semi-final berth by beating Adrian Lewis last week and will need to do the same this week against Ronnie Baxter if he is to maintain those aspirations. It was quite a shock result from Jenkins, who had previously lost six Premier League matches on the bounce, but he reverted to recent form in the weekend’s PDC ranking events when twice making a second round exit at the hands of darting journeymen.
Baxter has rarely been given the credit that he deserves this campaign and you can be sure that if either of the other two layers who are tied on 11 points were playing Jenkins this week they would be available at odds on prices with the bookmakers. At odds of 5/4 with Boylesports it is time to sit up and take notice of the Rocket.
James Wade continued his resurgence up the table last week by taking just the second point of the season from Phil Taylor’s grasp. At the time Wade was understandably a little disappointed as he could, and probably should, have taken maximum points from the game. But on reflection I am sure that he will see it as a point gained rather than a point dropped. This week he faces Raymond van Barneveld and there is little that can be said here about the Dutchman that I haven’t mentioned numerous times in previous weeks. Simply, back Wade at the 1.8 (4/5) at Betfair.
The penultimate match of the night will be between Mervyn King and Adrian Lewis. After championing Lewis’s credentials before last week’s match he duly went on to revert to his inconsistent self and succumbed to an out of form Jenkins. However, we know that when at his best he is a match for anyone and it seems that the betting community also see this one as too tough to call, both player are around the 6/4 mark with the bookmakers. Steer well clear of the match odds betting on this one.
Instead, a bet on Lewis to win the race to 3 legs at odds of 5/6 with Bet365 looks to be the best betting option for this match. If we can push last week’s performance to one side then Lewis has a very good record in the opening legs and tends to struggle most after the break, whereas King can be a little slow in getting out of the blocks.
