2010 SIX NATIONS RUGBY OPENING FIXTURES BETTING

We’ve got three solid Six Nations matches kicking off this weekend- two on Saturday and one on Sunday. In the opening fixture of the tournament, we have defending champs Ireland taking on perennial Six Nations whipping boys Italy at 14:30 on Saturday. Ireland go into this one as the massive 1/33 favourites as Italy are paying out at 10/1 for an outright victory. The unlikely draw rewards at a lengthy 33/1.
William Hill is offering up about 10 different pre-match markets and they’ll be featuring live betting on every Six nations match.
With so little value on Ireland in the outright market, the tacticians will be turning to the winning margins market to grab some decent value. The lowest-priced options are Ireland to win by 26-30 and 31-35 at 5/1 apiece. Ireland to win 21-25 and 36-40 are paying out at solid 6/1’s. Should Ireland blow out Italy by between 76-80 you’re looking at a colossal 125/1.
You’ll also get access to markets like first team try/last team try, total points odd/even, when will the first try happen, double result, highest scoring half and race to ten points.
The England vs Wales match is going to be a very big one, with Welsh Rugby making real strides every year. England go in as the favourites though with a 4/6 price against the Welshmen at 6/5. The draw is 18/1. It is favoured to be a very close match with the lowest-priced winning margin being England between 1-5 at 4/1. England to win by between 6-10 pays out at 11/2. Wales to win by 1-5 pays a mere 9/2.
The Sunday fixture pits Scotland vs France and with the French side considered the tournament favourites, you can see why they’re listed at a slim price of 4/11. Scotland trade at 2/1 while the draw is an 18/1 shot. France are favoured to win by between 6-10 at 9/2 while an 11-15 victory rewards at 5/1- the same price as France 1-5.
You can back all the favourites on an accumulator and you’ll be looking at a payout of £23.42 from a £10 wager.
