2010 SONY OPEN LATEST ODDS AND TIPS

We’re about to see a very strong field line up tomorrow for the opening day of the 2010 Sony Open along the Pacific shores of Waialae Country Club. I expect to see some memorable shots played on the signature par 3 17th hole.
The favourite going in is Steve Stricker, listed by popular UK bookmaker William Hill at a rewarding 12/1 price. Zach Johnson is the second favourite at 16/1 while Sean O’Hair rounds out the top 3 contenders at an 18/1 price. Following them, we have Robert Allenby and Rory Sabbatini at 20/1 while Angel Cabrera, Ernie Els, Brian Gay, Justin Leonard and Retief Goosen are all sitting at a 25/1 price.
Steve Ames, Matt Kuchar, George McNeill, Kevin Na, Stewart Cink, David Toms and Tim Clark all trade at 35/1. There’s a few other notable contenders out there including KJ Choi at 50/1, Vijay Singh at 45/1, Boo Weekley at 66/1, Davis Love and DJ Trahan at 80/1. The remaining half of John Daly can be backed at 125/1.
William Hill has a few extra markets available on this one and the Winning Nationality betting is an interesting option. An American victor pays out at 2/5 while a Rest of the World winner trades at 7/4.
You can back players for a top 5 finish or a top 10 finish, which is a great way to bring those outside selections into play. You know that in all of these tournaments there’s usually at least one surprise challenger and the big payday comes when you can predict who that is going to be.
1st round leader betting is also available at should Steve Stricker be leading after the 1st round, you’re looking at a hefty 18/1.
The bookies don’t fancy a playoff, a standard victory pays out at 3/10 while a play-off happening garners a 12/5 price. Margin of Victory betting is available with a 1 shot win paying 5/2, 2 shots paying 7/2, 3 shots paying 9/2 and 4 or more strokes paying out at 10/3.
