2010 ST LEGER AT DONCASTER ODDS AND BETTING TIPS

We've seen plenty of quality racing over the past few days at Doncaster and there's been a few solid pick-ups here and there, but luckily we've saved the bulk of our bankroll for the big Group 1 race at 3:20 tomorrow- the St Leger, one of England's oldest and most storied flat races.
Godolphin's Rewilding (Tiger Hill) has been the betting favourite for this for quite some time and he's priced at nearly even money by most major bookmakers and his 6/4 price likely won't hold into the next race day. Unless a flood of late money comes in elsewhere, I think if you plan on backing the favourite you had best do it now. This is the first step up to Group 1 level for Saeed Bin Suroor's three year-old colt and that's one of the reasons why the win-only may not be the best idea.
Dandino (Dansili) is proving to be a popular option with solid scores at plenty of major racecourses this season, including Doncaster. Running 11112 on the season is a solid record but none of those victories come at Graded level. An 8/1 price is decent value but it will simply take such a step up in class that this could be beyond Dandino.
SNOW FAIRY (Intikhab) looks the choice here for those looking to beat Rewilding. Lightly-raced this year with only four outings, she came directly off the listed circuit to grab the Group 1 Investec Oaks at Epsom and then followed that up with another Group level score in the Irish Oaks at the Curragh. A second place finish in the Yorkshire Oaks to the talented Midday (Oasis Dream) isn't really a huge stroke against her as the winner really outdid herself that day. An 8/1 price is certainly a decent one and she could wind up being a popular selection with the female race-goers.
Other contenders include William Buick and Arctic Cosmos (North Light) at an 8/1 price and while Buick has been in solid form lately, this race could be just a step too far. Midas Touch (Galileo) will likely take a fair amount of money based on that second-place finish to Rewilding in the Great Voltigeur. He's a good option for those looking to back a progressive sort, but he has trouble finding an extra gear when put under pressure in the final 100 yards.
Another AP O'Brien charge, Joshua Tree (Montjeu) could spring a surprise here and he's only been out on course once this year, finishing third in the Great Voltigeur. This is the dark horse for the race and the 9/1 price looks decent enough, and the group two winner looks talented enough, you just have to wonder whether he'll be able to last the distance under a hotter than expected pace.
The longer odds selections include Ted Spread (Beat Hollow) at 16/1, Corsica (Cape Cross) at 66/1, Theology (Galileo) at 40/1 and Sir Michael Stoute's Total Command (Sadler's Wells) who trades at 66/1 and the fact that Ryan Moore has taken the mount over Snow Fairy may give confidence to those looking to back a blockbuster long-shot selection.
