2010 WINTER OLYMPICS CANADA LATEST BETTING TIPS

Looking for the best odds on Canada at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics? Look no further! This is going to be such a big Olympics for Canada, not just because we’re the country hosting it, but because we’ve never actually won a gold medal before at a Winter Olympics held in our country. The “Own the Podium” campaign has been ploughing money and expertise into our amateur athletics programs so we’re going to finally see the results of all that money and hard work.
I expect Canada to have a very solid Olympics and to return a number of Gold Medals.
First and foremost on the minds of virtually all Canadian sportsfans, is just how well we’re going to do in the 2010 Men’s Olympic Hockey tournament. Rest assured, Canada’s odds for 2010 Olympic Hockey are very good, so good that we’re considered the tournament favourites. Canada are trading at 2.25 with BWIN to win the Men’s Olympic Hockey Tournament. Russia are just behind at 3.5 while Sweden are also very strong contenders at 3.75. The United States are listed at 7.75 and they are, more or less, the only other plausible contender. Canada’s group for the Olympic hockey includes the USA, Switzerland and Norway. Canada are trading at a slim 1.35 to top their group with the USA trading at 2.95. If you don’t care about Canada winning the tournament, you just want them to finish higher than the USA, you can back that at 1.35 with BWIN.
2010 Olympic Women’s Hockey is a similar story with Canada considered stark favourites to win the tournament. Canada are trading at a slim 1.55 to win the tournament with the only other competitive nation being the USA at 2.3. A Canada/USA final is almost guaranteed here. Canada’s Women are a miniscule 1.07 to top their group that includes Sweden, Switzerland and Slovakia.
You can back Canada to win gold in both Men’s and Women’s Hockey at a 3.49- that’s a quality price.
In terms of Alpine Skiing, Canada are trading at 7.5 to get the most gold medals in both the men’s and women’s categories. You’ll find Austria listed as the strong 2.75 favourite to win the most medals with the USA just behind at 4.0. Switzerland are at 4.4.
Canada do not look competitive for the Ski Jumping or Biathlon events.
For Men’s Two Man Bobsleigh, Canada are solid contenders with Lyndon Rush trading at 6.0 to win gold. Andre Lange of Germany is a heavy favourite at 1.6 while Beat Hefti (awesome name) is listed at 4.5. Thomas Florscheutz trades at 4.75. Pierre Lueders is being featured on Canadian TV commercials and he trades at 25.0 to win the Two-Man Bobsled. Kallie Humphries is co-3rd favourite to win the Women’s Olympic Bobsleigh and she’s available at 4.0- the same price as American Shauna Rohbock. Helen Upperton can be backed at 21.0 for Canada. Canada will also need plenty of help to win the Men’s Four-Man Bobsleigh with their closest competitor being Lyndon Rush at 26.0 and Pierre Lueders at 34.0.
Canada are favoured to dominate the 2010 Olympic Curling tournament with the Canucks trading at 2.5 for the outright win. China are considered very competitive at 3.0 while Switzerland trade at 8.0. Canada are even heavier favourites to win the men’s division, with a price of 1.8. That’s one of Canada’s biggest locks in the entirety of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and they are well-ahead of second-place favourites Great Britain at 5.5. Backing Canada for curling is a must for any Canadian fan betting on the 2010 Olympics.
Canada appears to have it all to do in terms of the Men’s Luge, their only competitor in the Men’s Singles is Samuel Edney at 201.0 behind Armin Zoeggeler of Italy who is listed at 2.0. Two Germans are favoured to win the women’s Luge, but you can basically bet against those two (backing anybody else to win gold) at a lengthy 11.0. That’s not a bad bet, but this is not a very competitive market. For the doubles Luge, Canada’s Moffat brothers are a lengthy 201.0 to win.
For Women’s Skeleton, Canada’s best option is Melissa Hollingsworth, who is considered the betting favourite at 2.8 ahead of Germany’s Marion Trott at 3.0. This is a tough test, but it will be a big victory for Canada if Hollingsworth takes this one. Amy Gough is listed at 34.0 while Michelle Kelly trades at 51.0. For Men’s Skeleton, Canada’s Jon Montgomery is the 2nd favourite, at a 3.5 price, just behind Martins Dukurs of Latvia who is listed at 2.5. Jeff Pain trades at 7.5 and is a major contender. Michael Douglas (not that one) trades at 85.0.
2010 OLYMPIC CANADA’S BEST BETS
Canada looks set to dominate the team sports and that’s no joke. The odds for a number of other events have not been released yet, but we’ll be front and center when they do. Canada look set to win hockey and curling in both the men’s and women’s events and I actually expect them to do quite well at events like Snowboarding and possibly figure skating, but we’re not sure what the odds are looking like just yet.
