2010 WINTER OLYMPICS PAIRS FIGURE SKATING LATEST ODDS
After we saw the Pairs figure skating last night, we haven’t seen a huge amount of movement in terms of the odds for the 2010 Winter Olympics Pairs Figure Skating Odds. The tandem of Xue Shen and Hongbo Zhao continue to lead the way after having notched a 76.66 score last night, leaving them in pole position for today’s finals.
Top UK bookmaker William Hill has them priced at 4/6 to take the gold medal and, seeing as they were favourites on the way in, it isn’t entirely surprising. They will have to mess things up pretty hard to finish outside of the top 3, so a bet on them for the gold is probably your sharpest option.
The German tandem of Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy are in second place at a 75.96 score. They trade at 6/4 for the outright victory. Unfortunately, I don’t really consider them an enticing bet as the value just isn’t there. If they were trading at 3/1 for the win, I would have jumped on it, but 6/4 is too short with such a strong favourite. Russians Yuko Kavaguti and Alexander Smirnov are sitting in third place with a 74.16 score and trading at 13/2 to win a gold medal.
They face competition for a podium finish from Qing Pang and Jian Tong, from China, who are trading at a lengthy 14/1 margin for the win. They sit fourth with a score of 71.50. Dan and Hao Zhang are the fifth-placed team with the same price as the other Chinese tandem- 14/1.
The Canadian pair of Jessica Dube and Bryce Davison have it all to do and they are listed at 33/1 to win a shock gold medal. They had big expectations coming in, but their sixth place performance just wasn’t up to Olympic calibre. Annabelle Langlois and Cody Hay sit in seventh place and trade at 100/1 to win the gold medal.
