2010 WORLD CUP BETTING TIPS NORTH KOREA ARE 750 TO 1 FOR THE WIN
I guess it's kind of a slap in the face if you live in Finland or Wales that your countries chances of winning the 2010 World Cup are exponentially worse than North Korea's. Everyone's favourite backwards wasteland of oppression has just qualified for the 2010 World Cup and Paddy Power has set them at a juicy 750/1 to win the tournament outright. So, could Kim Jong Il's group of young guns really have a chance at detaining the World Cup trophy for four years? Will a nuclear test be set off in celebration of a victory? Only time will tell. Japan are 100/1 to win the tournament while the USA carries a 66/1 price. Now, we all know that FIFA is going to do absolutely everything in its power to ensure that North Korea doesn't play South Korea (150/1) but you can bet your sweet butt that they will be in the same qualifying group as the United States- I'm willing to bet money on that right now. Similar in scope and scale to the match-up between Iran and the United States at World Cup 98, I could see geopolitical tensions being either nullified or ratcheted up based on the outcome of the match. If North Korea beats the United States at World Cup 2010, will they launch missiles or simply declare it a national holiday? Keep in mind that North Korea has a relatively decent record at World Cups that they've qualified for, they made it to the Quarter-Finals in 1966. By securing a spot at World Cup 2010, they've also bounced the Iranians out of contention and Saudi Arabia must win a playoff against Bahrain- take that Axis of Evil! The Go-To players for North Korean football are the impressive striker Jong Tae-Se who plays in Japan for Kawasaki Frontale and recently called-up Ryang Yong-Gi who plays for Vegalta Sendai. Kim Kuk-Jin plays for FC Basel (yeah, the Swiss team) and they will likely be led by their most-capped player Ji Yun Nam who plays for North Korean powerhouse April 25- that's one of the toughest sports team names I've heard. April 25 are the Manchester United of North Korea and the Korean People's Army are their equivalent of the Glazier family- except with less money and more torture. While the Nampo Stadium in Pyongyang may not exactly be Old Trafford, these lads are going to be bringing some North Korean flavour to South Africa next year!WORLD CUP 2010 WINNER ODDSBrazil 5/1Spain 5/1Argentina 6/1England 8/1Germany 11/1Italy 12/1Holland 12/1France 18/1Portugal 33/1Russia 33/1Ivory Coast 40/1Serbia 50/1Croatia 66/1USA 66/1Denmark 66/1Paraguay 66/1South Africa 80/1Czech Republic 80/1North Korea 750/1Finland 1500/1Wales 5000/1
