2010 WORLD CUP FINAL BETTING ODDS ON WHO WILL SCORE THE WINNING GOAL
If you're going to be having a bet on today's massive 2010 World Cup Final- why not back the biggest and most exciting market there is? The Winning Goalscorer bet only comes around every once in a while for big fixtures like these and you can lock in some seriously solid odds- especially if you think a more obscure player will stamp his name into the history books.
As it currently stands, popular Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has priced David Villa at 4/1 to score the winning goal. They also still appear to have confidence in Fernando Torres as well, with the Liverpool man priced at 11/2 to score the winning goal. That makes him a clear second favourite.
Robin Van Persie's odds to score the winning goal are listed at 13/2 and he hasn't really put up a big total in the World Cup as the Netherland's goals tend to come from midfield. They are a bit more interchangable in their attack and this can lead to Van Persie being used more as a target man to knock the ball down or hold up the play, before passing to a Dutch midfielder.
Fernando Llorente is trading at 15/2 while Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is priced at 8/1. Wesley Sneijder scoring the winning goal would be pretty appropriate and you can back that at a 9/1 price- that's the same odds as Arjen Robben to score the winning goal.
Dirk Kuyt to score the winning goal is trading at 11/1 and I think he's actually one of the more likely players to pull this off- my only question is whether he would still be on the pitch later on during the match. I think that he's the type of player I'd keep out there, but I'm not sure which direction the Dutch manager will proceed with. I would almost be more tempted to back Kuyt to score first now that I think about it.
If you think Carles Puyol with grab the winner here, you can lock in a tidy price of 40/1. Mark Van Bommel is an enticing 28/1.
