2010 WORLD CUP PREDICTIONS FOR THE GROUP STAGES PART TWO
The group stage betting for the 2010 World Cup is likely going to be some of the most dynamic and if you can get yourself set up properly, you will stand a great chance of winning any World Cup pools you’ve entered as a lot of people fall into the trap of picking every favourite. There are definitely some beatable favourites here and if you can get those right- it’s the lynchpin to winning your pool or cashing out a big reward.
Group E looks to be all about Holland and they’re listed at 1.57 to win the Group. None of Cameroon, Denmark or Japan strikes much fear into my heart so this one will likely be a battle for second place. Cameroon trade at 3.0 to finish runner up while Denmark are listed at the same price. Japan are 5.5 to finish as runner-up and progress to the next stage. Interestingly enough, Holland/Cameroon is trading at 3.75 while Holland/Denmark are priced at 4.0. Holland/Japan can be backed at a 6.5 price.
Group F has defending Champions Italy trading at 1.5 to win their group. They generally don’t start tournaments too brightly so you would be forgiven if you backed upstarts Paraguay to capture this group. The South American side are at 3.5 to do so while Slovakia are at 8.0 and New Zealand trade at 41.0. Paraguay are 2.25 to go through as runner-up and an Italy/Paraguay straight forecast is heavily-favoured at 2.5. Italy/Slovakia is listed as the next best selection at 4.0.
Group G is considered to be the group of death at the 2010 World Cup with Brazil considered 1.57 favourites ahead of Portugal and Ivory Coast, as well as North Korea. Brazil/Portugal is the favoured straight forecast at 2.75 and I can see that happening. A number of folks are looking to bet against Portugal and Brazil/Ivory Coast can be backed at 3.2. I think that North Korea are serious longshots but they can’t be ruled out. Brazil/North Korea trades at 41.0.
The biggest favourites in the entire Group stages are the outright favourites to win the competition- Spain. They trade at 1.25 to top their underwhelming group that includes Chile, Switzerland and Honduras. Chile are at even money to progress as runner-up while Switzerland are listed at 3.4. Honduras are a tidy 8.0 to go through in second place. I think Spain should stroll through this group and may not even concede a goal.
