2010 WORLD CUP SEMI FINAL PREDICTIONS URUGUAY VS HOLLAND AND GERMANY VS SPAIN
When you look back on the quarter-final stages of the 2010 World Cup, you realize what a buffet of fabulous football we were privy to across four fantastic fixtures. There was high drama in nearly every match and upsets aplenty as the momentum swung back towards Europe after South America seemed to be dominating the tournament following the round of 16.
As it currently stands, top UK bookmaker William Hill has priced Spain as the outright favourites to win the 2010 World Cup with a 7/4 price. Holland and Germany are both available at 2/1 odds while Uruguay are priced at a lengthy 12/1. If you're a big fan of Uruguay, you are still able to lock in a great price- which is more than you can say for the other sides here.
Before the tournament started, Spain were considered the favourites at a 5/1 price placing them just ahead of Brazil. Germany were priced at a lengthy 15/1 with most major bookmakers while the Dutch were trading around 10/1 or 12/1. Uruguay were a mammoth 200/1 with a number of popular bookies.
The odds are released for the Uruguay vs Holland fixture and the Dutch are listed at a short price of 4/6 to oust the upstart Uruguayans. Diego Forlan & Co are available at 5/1 and will be without the services of new national hero Luis Suarez- who is considered an absolute pariah in some circles now thanks to his infamous two-handed save which earned him a red card- and Uruguay a berth in the semi finals.
Spain vs Germany is an absolutely scintellating fixture and would have been a more than deserved final. I think that one is going to be incredibly open and I'm anxiously awaiting the bookmakers odds for that match. I think that they will likely give the edge to Spain, but it will be a very small margin. I think that a 6/4 price on Spain would be expected while Germany will likely trade at 5/2 with the draw at 11/4 in the 90 minutes market. Keep in mind that those are estimates and are not to be taken as gospel.
It's going to be a very fascinating set of matches in the World Cup semi-finals and if they are half as good as the quarter-finals were, then were are certainly in for a treat.
