2010 WORLD CUP SPECIAL BETS FOR ENGLAND FROM WILLIAM HILL

Considering the fact that England are so heavily-favoured to win their group and virtually all the matches within it, punters looking for a lot of value will likely be resorting to the live betting or they will be taking advantage of the special betting markets for the tournament and there are some very interesting wagers here that we’ll be profiling.

William Hill has a massive slate of special bets available and if any English player (*cough* Wayne Rooney) scores a hat-trick at any point in the tournament you’re looking at a 9/4 payout. Any English player to be sent off at any point in the tournament is priced at nearly odds-on with an 11/10 listing.
Fabio Capello’s men are priced at 4/1 to high-roll the tournament in terms of goalscoring. They are 15/8 to win all of their group matches and that’s not a bad bet really, I think the only thing that can stop them is if they qualify by winning their first two and then play the B side and draw or something in the final fixture.
Many English fans don’t have much confidence in their side when it comes to penalty kicks and you’ll find England at 7/2 to win a penalty shoot out during the tournament.
If Joe Hart gets a surprise call-up to start against the United States, you’re got a 6/1 listing. If Robert Green starts the match you’re looking at 6/4 while David James to start is odds-on at 8/11.
I actually expect England to try out a different keeper or two, especially if there are high-profile errors from Calamity James. One keeper is the favoured option at 4/11 while two keepers trades at 9/4. England to use all three keepers is priced at 11/1- I think it will take an injury for that to happen.
If Wayne Rooney scores a goal in all of England’s group matches, William Hill has a tidy 5/1 payout. Considering he is odds-on to score at 4/5 in the USA match and will likely be even shorter, this is a solid bet. I think the only way it’s undone is if Rooney fails to start the final match in the group or if he gets hurt (god forbid).
If Ledley King and Shaun Wright-Phillips both start against the USA, Hills is paying out at 20/1. That’s a crazy price, but I just don’t see it happening.
Ashley Cole and John Terry are favoured to play the most minutes- both options priced at 9/2. Glen Johnson pays out at 5/1.
