2010/11 CHAMPIONSHIP BETTING ODDS SHOW CARDIFF AND QPR FAVOURED

While it may only be the second tier of English football, it goes without saying that the English Championship is one of the most competitive football leagues in Europe. With so much at stake for any side winning the tournament or even gaining promotion at all, you are guaranteed an absolute 9 month battle every year.
Currently, Cardiff look like the slim favourites to win the 2010/11 Championship with bookmakers William Hill pricing them at 9/2 odds. High-flying QPR are priced at 5/1 to win the tournament and both of these sides look very likely for promotion- either automatically or through the play-off system.
QPR haven't been in the upper echelon of the English game for quite some time and their big-spending ownership will be salivating for an opportunity to bring the club back to its glory days.
In regards to the outside bets, Ipswich and Burnley remain in contention with odds of 8/1 and 9/1, respectively. Middlesbrough is listed at 10/1 to win the Championship while Nottingham Forest are priced at 11/1. Reading are trading at 14/1 and Norwich at 16/1.
In regards to outright promotion, QPR are actually favoured over Cardiff, with a 7/4 price tag compared to the Welsh side's 13/8. Burnley are trading at 5/2 for promotion while Nottingham Forest can be backed alongside Middlesbrough at 3/1. Ipswich are priced at 10/3 while Reading are at 9/2.
One of the main reasons why Cardiff look to be favoured to win the tournament is likely their acquisition of Craig Bellamy. You can back the fiery Welshman at an 11/2 price tag to be named Championship top goalscorer. Kris Boyd is listed at 8/1 whiel Billy Sharp trades at 12/1 alongside Jay Bothroyd.
