2010/11 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE LATEST BETTING ODDS
Now that the 2010 World Cup has finally come and gone, we can start to focus on the tournament thats so near and dear to all of our hearts- the English Premier League. I'm expecting a very dynamic competition after the transition year we had in the 2009/10 season. I think that the landscape to the league is different and we can expect different things from different teams. '
There are a lot of different narratives to this season's competition and if you spend as much time as we do thinking about all these things then you're likely going to want to put a bit of money down on the upcoming season to make it interesting.
As it currently stands, Chelsea are the favourites to win the next Premier League season with William Hill pricing them at a 6/4 price. Manchester United are paying out at 5/2 and I think that with one more key signing they will be a real force to be reckoned with this time around.
Wayne Rooney looked absolutely spent at the 2010 World Cup and I think he needs some time to get his game back together. Javier Hernandez, aka Chicharito, will be a key player this season and if he starts with a real bang then we could see the back of Dimitar Berbatov. Personally, I think that Berba should be deployed in midfield ahead of the likes of Carrick or Anderson- both of whom wouldn't be a big surprise to leave United this season.
Manchester City are sitting pretty at a 9/2 price- making them clear third favourites to win the 2010/11 English Premier League while Arsenal can be backed at a 13/2 price.
Liverpool's odds to win the 2010/11 Premier League are a lengthy 14/1 and they will need to step it up big-time to pull this off. I think Roy Hodgson's biggest task is to keep them from dropping further if they lose Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.
Tottenham Hotspur made big improvements last year, securing that coveted fourth spot, and Harry Redknapp's side are priced at 25/1. The reasonable odds end there and then with Everton at 100/1 to win and Villa at 200/1. Newcastle are an interesting 750/1 while Fulham trade at 1000/1 alongside West Ham and Sunderland. Blackburn and Birmingham are both listed at 2000/1 while Stoke, Wigan, Bolton, Wigan and West Brom are all priced at 2500/1. Blackpool are 5000/1 to win the 2010 English Premier League Season.
