2010/11 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE PREDICTIONS AND LATEST BETTING ODDS
We've already released the latest slate of betting odds for the outright winner of the 2010/11 English Premier League season and now we're turning to some specific predictions for the Premiership as well as some of the more interesting special betting markets available on this massive season.
Manchester City being considered the third favourites to win the Premier League this time out struck me as a very exciting state of affairs, but it looks like things might be almost a bit too interesting over at City. Roberto Mancini is considered to be the favourite in the Sack Race for the 2010/11 season. Irish bookmaker Paddy Power has priced him at 4/1 to be sacked before anybody else this year.
Ian Holloway is listed at 5/1 while Roberto Di Matteo is listed at a 6/1 price. Hughton and Martinez are both at 7/1 while Mick McCarthy is trading at 9/1. Steve Bruce sits at 12/1 with Avram Grant at 14/1. Owen Coyle is at 16/1 with Sam Allardyce while Alex McLeish is trading at 18/1. Martin O'Neill is trading at 20/1 with Tony Pulis at 28/1. Hodgson, Ancelotti, Moyes and Redknapp are all listed at 33/1 with Arsene Wenger at 66/1 and Sir Alex Ferguson at 80/1. Keep in mind that this bet includes the manager being sacked, but also leaving of their own volition. No Premier League managers to be sacked (they can still leave of their own accord) pays out at an 18/1 price.
Roberto Mancini to wear a scarf on the opening day of the Premier League season (mid-August) is heavily-favoured at a slim 1/5 price.
Sir Alex Ferguson is 11/8 to retire at the end of the 2010/11 Premier League season.
Wayne Bridge and John Terry are priced at 3/1 to shake hands after their teams play on September 25th.
A goal in a Premier League match to cross the line Frank Lampard-style and not be awarded is listed at 7/2. Personally, I think with a few hundred matches happening this year that it will more than likely happen at least once. That's a great bet.
Speaking of controversial refereeing, Howard Webb to send off the most players in a Premier League match is at 8/1.
Blackpool, West Brom and Wigan to be relegated together is a solid 11/1 payout. Wigan always seem to figure out a way to stay up though and West Brom do look decent enough this year.
Jermaine Beckford to score no goals in the entire season is trading at 12/1. Blackpool to get less than 11 points in the entire season is trading at 16/1. I think they're miles better than Derby County a few years back.
Marouane Fellaini to commit the most fouls at a 16/1 price is also an interesting bet. If he stays healthy and plays most matches then I think he should get the job done. The hair tends to attract more calls.
Should Arsene Wenger be sent to the stands again against Manchester United, you've got a 40/1 payday.
How's this for a whopper? Blackpool to beat Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal this season is a lengthy 200/1. Thing is, if you actually bet those three wins on a parlay you would probbaly make a much bigger margin. Blackpool will likely be 20/1 to win all those matches so if you took a 20/1 win and combined it with another 20/1 win you've got a 400/1 payout. If this bet included draws, I would give it some thought.
