2010/11 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE RELEGATION BETTING ODDS

It's going to be a supremely interesting season this year as the English Premier League has a distinctly differently shape to it now that we've seen the Big 4 being broken by Spurs and sides like Blackpool are going to be duking it out with the Uniteds and the Chelseas.

Newcastle are back up this season after their one year sojourn in the Championship where they more or less dominated the entire way through. They've reconsolidated themselves and look a distinctly different side than the one that went down- despite retaining the bulk of their players.
Blackpool are available at a slim 2/7 to go down next year and I get the feeling that if they lose their first match heavily then some bookmakers may decide to pay out on their relegation. Paddy Power may have learned their lesson the last time they decided to do that, as they paid out on Stoke City after they lost their first fixture in the Premier League. Two years on and the Potters are a lengthy 6/1 to go down with a good seven or eight teams favoured for the drop ahead of Tony Pulis' side.
Paddy Power is listing Blackpool at a 9/4 price to stay up and I think this is a "bet later" as opposed to a "bet now". Blackpool to pull off the victory over rivals Arsenal is paying out at 9/2 and they'll get two cracks at that one. Blackpool are 6/1 to beat Manchester United, who always seem to drop one match to a promoted side, while they are 13/2 to beat out league Champions Chelsea. What a story that would be.
Perennial yo-yo side West Brom are odds-on to go down this year as well with a 4/5 price although their final day heroics from about five years ago will still be on the minds of their fans. I don't see Kieran Richardson getting carried off the field on the shoulders of supporters anytime soon though.
Wolves and Wigan are the third favourite for the drop and I think Mick McCarthy's side are the better bet to stay up. Wigan and Wolves are both available at a 9/4 price tag.
Newcastle's odds to be relegated are listed at 11/4 and I think this will be a popular bet for football fans in the North as I'm confident they would all appreciate another laugh at Mike Ashley's expense. West Ham have had some tenuous finishes over the past few years and they're 7/2 to drop through the Premier League trapdoor.
Bolton Wanderers are priced at 9/2 to be relegated and they've been in the Premier League nearly 10 years now. Stoke City are at the aforementioned 6/1 price while Blackburn Rovers are priced alongside Birmingham. Fulham are trading at 8/1 while Sunderland are priced at 10/1.
These are really the only plausible relegations as the odds take a dramatic jump to 40/1 for Everton and 50/1 to Aston Villa. Tottenham are 100/1 while Liverpool are a lengthy 200/1 to be relegated. Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are all available at 500/1 while Chelsea are 1000/1 to be relegated.
