It’s going to be a fascinating few months of speculation after the upcoming Champions League Final because everybody is going to be wondering who actually takes next year’s iteration of Europe’s top club competition.

The bookmakers are already listing a betting line right now and punters will find the most fancied club is Bayern Munich - hardly surprising because they are the de facto favourite to secure the Champions League Final this year and they also have one of the most well-fancied managers in the world set to take the reigns again next year in Pep Guardiola.

As it looks right now, Bayern Munich will be 7/2 to win next year’s Champions League and you can expect that price to drop if they actually win this year’s competition. A listing of around 5/2 or even 2/1 would probably be the right price.

Barcelona, who have been considered the outright favourites for the past few years going into the tournament, are available at a solid 9/2 listing to win the Champions League. Their power looks to have been diminished a bit this year and they just didn’t really look the super slick side that they used to be. Perhaps teams have figured out how to play against them and perhaps they are just getting on in years a little bit.

Real Madrid look to be heading towards a transitional season next year but they are still well-fancied and considered to be the third choice with a price of 5/1 being floated right now. Jose Mourinho looks set to leave and Cristiano Ronaldo still has question marks over his presence next year.

Manchester City are still in the running and they trade at 10/1 to lift the Champions League trophy next year. They will need to turn things around in a big way if they even want to get out of the group stage. Although it is quite interesting that they are favoured ahead of cross-town rivals Manchester United, who will have David Moyes at the helm next year.

Punters can back United at an 11/1 price while the odds on the other selections are all significantly longer. Chelsea trades at 12/1 alongside PSG while Borussia Dortmund are at 20/1 with Juventus priced identically. Arsenal and AC Milan are 25/1 while Spurs are at 33/1. Celtic are the longest shot on the board with a 500/1 price.
