With David Moyes men having just only secured their passage through to the next stage of the competition, and looking lackluster in the Premier League itself, an opportunity to defeat Bayern Munich could prove to be the biggest chance they have this season of doing something like the Old United.
The Germans are odds-on for the victory here and they trade at an 8/13 price tag to beat out United in the first leg while the Red Devils can be backed at a lengthy 7/2 price tag. In regards to outright qualification, however, you’ll find Bayern Munich as short as 1/6 while United are 7/2 to progress through to the semi-finals of the competition - what a story that would be.
If they were to get a result over the two legs, considering all of the circumstances involved at the time, you would have to say that it would constitute one of the greatest achievements in the club’s history and would likely ensure that David Moyes will remain Manchester United manager through to next season.
The biggest favourites in the quarter finals of the Champions League appear to be Real Madrid and they face off against Borussia Dortmund their two-legged fixture. The bookmakers have Real Madrid hovering around a slim 2/7 price in their first fixture while the German challengers can be backed at a 7/1 listing.
