2014 French Open Betting Tips and Preview

The French Open at Roland Garros is already upon us now and it looks like the Men’s Tournament is shaping up to be a dead-on shootout between the reigning top 2 in the world of men’s tennis. Right now there doesn’t look to be much in way of betting options unless you’re the type of punters who is looking towards the longer odds selections right from the outset.

Take a look at the 2.25 price right now you’ll find on both Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic. With Nadal having taken nearly every French Open in recent memory you do have to concede that his price right now does actually represent a bit of value - though it’s hard to get excited about 2.25.

His ability to do well in the French Open hasn’t really been called into question in quite some time and, even though the Serbian counterpart has been playing much better all-around tennis for the last year, Nadal remains nearly unbeatable on this court and looks to be continuing that streak right now.

Both of them have stormed through their early found fixtures and will be heading towards the more difficult stages in the coming days. However, it really looks as though the bookmakers only see them as the real challengers for each other. For instance, you’ll find Grand Slam winner Andy Murray trading at 17.0 with UK books right alongside former ranking world #1 Roger Federer at the same price.

It’s a tough one if you really fancy either of them to win the tournament but you can certainly tuck into some each-way odds for both of them - which is 1/2 the price to finish top 2. Federer or Murray to make the final is not entirely out of the question and 8.5 looks a fairly tidy reward for doing so.

Other notable prices on the men’s side of the tournament include the likes of David Ferrer at 21.0 - he is definitely starting to get more respect form the bookmakes along with the likes of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Canadian upstart Milos Raonic. Both of them are available at very lengthy prices of 67.0 but they are never completely out of the reckoning in tournaments like this.
