Seeing Connor Wickham grab two goals against one of the Premier League’s best defensive units showed the potential that is there but the team has lacked cohesion and a winning attitude to boot, so you have to wonder whether nearly beating City might just galvanize them at the exact right time in the season. Regardless, they remain the shortest price at 1/10 for the drop right now.
Cardiff are the next in line with a very short 3/10 price tag by most major bookmakers. It will be interesting to see the results of the letter they sent to the Premier League asking them to forfeit the result of their fixture with Crystal Palace. With Tony Pulis’ assistant manager supposedly being able to locate the starting line-up prior to the match, this could have wide-ranging implications for the relegation battle as Cardiff are only three points from safety right now with several other big teams languishing near them.
Fulham are a point behind safety right now but their massive goal difference looks like it could really be the damaging factor in their ability to stay in the Premier League after an extremely long run that lasts well into the last decade. Fulham have been a likeable side for some time but this season has been an absolute shambles. The bookmakers do still seem to think that they will remain in the Premier League though and you’ll find them at 10/11 for the drop at this point despite that hefty goal differential.
Norwich are a 4/9 shout to go down this year and, while they remain a shade above the relegation zone, they have a very tough run-in at the end of the season. Their fans are second to none and they will be supporting them all the way but they must save the best for last if they are to have any hope of remaining in the English Premier League.
West Ham are 7/1 for the drop while Swansea are 9/1. Aston Villa trade at a 16/1 price tag while Hull City are 80/1 for the drop.
