2014 Wimbledon Betting Update

The biggest show on grass has just kicked off and the third round of the Wimbledon tournament has already produced a few really interesting matches. All eyes are on Andy Murray as he looks to retain his coveted Wimbledon title and he remains a strong second favourite to win the tournament behind current world #1 Novak Djokovic.

There are some good betting opportunities here on the outright market as you have all the top players in the world still very much in the mix here. While the live betting on tennis tends to take the bulk of the action, the real question is how you can lock in a good long-term price on the outright tournament winner.

At the moment, you will find Novak Djokovic trading at a competitive 2.62 to win Wimbledon and that’s not bad odds on a player as good as him. He has been in great form over the last few years and plenty of punters are clearly thinking that he represents decent value and is likely to deal with anything any of the other top players can throw at him.

Andy Murray, as previously mentioned, is sitting tight at 4.50 to get his second Wimbledon in a row - an achievement that would certainly ensconce him in the annals of British sport. Look for him to put together another against the odds performance as he looks to lock down another Grand Slam title in front of his home support. Don’t underestimate Andy Murray here.

Rafael Nadal is a competitive wager at 5.50 and is likely to attract plenty of action at that price, particularly on the back of some of his other performances throughout the last calendar year. You will also find living legend Roger Federer trading just behind him at a solid price of 6.0.

As usual, it really does look like those are the only four competitors with a genuine chance of winning when you consider that Dimitrov is the next best-priced player with a 13.0 listing and Wawrinka trades at 23.0. The interesting outside wager here is upstart Canadian Milos Raonic who can be backed at a 34.0 price tag and looks good when you consider the each-way bet.
