Kei Nishikori is also emerging as an interesting upstart contender here and the bookmakers have him trading at a 12/1 price to win his first major championship. They have given him the enthusiastic nod to get the better of his opponent Wawrinka tonight. Wawrinka himself trades at 16/1 right now to win the Australian Open and only Milos Raonic can be backed as the longest shot on the board with a full 28/1 price tag that will likely drop by 2/3’s if he is actually able to get the better of Novak Djokovic tonight in a match that could, ultimately, define his career so far.
In regards to the women’s tournament, it really looks to come down to a straight shoot-out between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova with both trading at very similar prices - Williams just getting the slim edge.
