2015 FA Cup Betting Preview PT 2
- By A.J. Ryder on January 2, 2015 16:16 GMTSpeaking of former Premier League sides, Aston Villa play host to Blackpool and the Midlands side are trading at a slim 2/5 against Blackpool’s 7/1 margin. Watch out for Blackpool getting off to an early start here with a goal from a set-piece or a corner. This one should be a straightforward outing for a Villa side that have been playing some alright stuff.

Manchester City are one of the biggest favourites of the entire day as they line up against Sheffield Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium with bookmakers floating them at a very short 1/6 price tag. Their opponents rank as a 14/1 outside shot here with a draw priced out at a 6/1 margin. While that draw price is certainly a bit short when you think of how this one will probably unfold, it’s worth remembering that City might be playing their B line-up here.
Southampton have been putting in some great performances and will be buoyed by their good outing against Arsenal. Watch out for them here with a solid 4/9 price against Ipswich Town at home. The visitors trade at a 6/1 price and that’s rather light for a side that will struggle against Southampton’s overall pace. It remains to be seen how tired they will be from their last match, however.
Stoke City are a very short 1/6 as they face off against upstarts Wrexham in a match that will probably have a few punters interested in a potential upset. The lower league side can be backed at a 14/1 margin that will probably go much higher during the build up to the match. This one does have the chance to be a classic, however, if the minnows come out all guns blazing and Stoke City have an off day.
Yeovil are an 11/1 shout to get the better of Manchester United as they host Louis Van Gaal’s men for a money-spinning home fixture. The visitors are trading at a very short 2/9 and they will be enjoying the opportunity to break their streak of costly draws in the Premier League itself. Look for the draw at an 11/2 margin but expect the Dutchman to name a relatively competitive side here.
Chelsea play host to Watford in another heavily-favoured fixture with a 1/6 price being floated ranking them amongst the biggest favourites of the day. The visitors are a 14/1 margin while the draw is trading at 6/1. Chelsea come in off a loss and Mourinho will be looking for a statement victory here.
Arsenal are a 1/3 shout against Hull who sit at 8/1 while Burnley and Tottenham face off in a match with Spurs trading at 4/5 against the hosts 7/2. Liverpool trade at 2/9 while Wimbledon is an 11/1 opportunity. Everton are even money against West Ham who trade at 29/10 in a match that looks to be one of the best betting opportunities of the day.
